about
This is a HEAVILY Akira Yamaoka-inspired track, and is VERY much about fucked up abuse-- how more often than not getting abused can imprint those toxic traits onto the victim.
Another big inspiration here is Sex with a Ghost by Teddy Hyde, and ESPECIALLY Gooey by Glass Animals (I realized WAAAAY too late into writing this that they are just INSANELY similar tracks, but I think it should be ok BWL...)
In fact, I could PROBABLY make a mashup of either of those two songs with this one and it'd work out fucking perfectly.
My voice in the track is probably the most and least modified it's ever been. The only separation between my true voice is a thick sludgy layer of noise.
It all adds up to this sense of eerieness, that the Mellotone plugin I use only accentuates. Also, this uses the amen break lol I'll never stop using it EVER
Another, more "artsy" way to look at this track is "cheating death", or even "cheating ON death with something else", sung from the perspective of death itself/themself.
We try to avoid it, and break shit... get out of that tough realization... but one day, we all will be the grim reaper's little lovebug.

lyrics
[Verse1:
Did you want my mercy?
Pain is all I have.
All the feelings we made together
Oh, it’s all we had
Now you want to hurt me
Either Side’s to Blame
All the things we broke together
It was all the same]
[Chorus x2:
Help, Hurt, Hug
Come Along, and be my lovebug, Baby
You’re just not too sure how it ends now
Let me be there to show you how
Help, Hurt, Hug
Is it Wrong? It’s a Simple Equation, Baby
You’re just apprehensive to it
Pretty soon we’ll be quite tight knit]
[Verse2:
Did you want me back then?
Every Good time ends
You’ll be wracked with guilt Karmatic
Just around the Bend
You always made me useless
Always made that fact
Once you’re gone, oh the next day changes
I’m taking your life back]
[Chorus x4:
Help, Hurt, Hug
Come Along, and be my lovebug, Baby
You’re just not too sure how it ends now
Let me be there to show you how
Help, Hurt, Hug
Is it Wrong? It’s a Simple Equation, Baby
You’re just apprehensive to it
Pretty soon we’ll be quite tight knit]
